Used Tennis

Rosin for tennis the same rosin used in the violin?

I have some leftover Rosin from the time I used to play the violin, Rosin is it that you put on your strings, rosin even put you on your hands when you play tennis?

The only use of rosin in tennis is to use your hands / grip to prevent slipping. Kind of like how pitchers have rosin bag on the mound in baseball. Just use it to wipe their hands to the ball does not slip. I've never seen (or heard) used on strings themselves. And honestly, I'm not sure it's the same kind of rosin. That is, there are a variety of types of rosin, and I'm not really sure whether the same type would be used in the bags of powdered rosin that you use on a violin. In fact, I do not know anyone who uses their hands to rosin in tennis. I had to keep this cake of rosin in your violin case.
