Super 14: Lions - What is the problem?

Should we blame the coaching staff? Bad players? How a Super 14 side received no wins after 14 games?

I am convinced that something is wrong somewhere in management. They were a power in rugby 10 or 15 years ago and well to be honest the last good thing to come from the Lions is Jaque Fourie (Probably the only good thing since Francois Pienaar and many retired). Young players who show the potential is picked up by other unions (Willem Alberts, Louis Ludik Sharks, Jacque Fourie in the Stormers Januarie; Wikus van Heerden went to Europe, they lost to the Stormers Schalk Brits, and later in Europe, Jaco Pretorius to the Bulls) The talented players that are leaving them in a faster rate than they are capable of producing new talent - I am inclined to think that this is something money can not generate the Bucks to keep talent interested in playing for the Union. So now we have some pretty good loyal players, talent playing with a small number enthusiastic and hope for the best. Gauteng has some of the best rugby schools in the country, so I am prone to think that the scouts Lions are simply not doing the job. Pretoria is only 50km from JHB, so I'm inclined to think that young people targeted by the recruiters are much more likely Return to a winning team in this region (Bulls) than that in the dumps.
