Its father shoots an arrow of mass 120 g at a speed of 30 m / s. Calculate the speed at which the apple leaves son of the head if: (a) the arrow is integrated permanently at the apple (b) the arrow passes through the apple and outlets with a speed of 15 m / s Thank you very much, any help would be greatly appreciated. This I obtained: m1u1 m2u2 + + = m1v1 m2v2 (Principle of conservation of momentum) m1 = 0.12 kg u1 = 30 m / s 0.1 kg m2 = U2 = 0 0.12 (30) + 0.1 (0) = m (v2) because they become incorporated bodies together 3.6 m / s = 0.22 (v2) 3.6 divided by 0.22 = 16.4 m / s final answer <(b) + m1u1 m2u2 M1v1 = + 3.6 + 0.1 = 1.8 m2v2 (v2) 3.6 to 1.8 = 0.1 (V2) 1.8 divided by 0.1 = v2 v2 = 18 It is a bit more complicated. It is quite possible that I made a mistake with my values of M and V, so please correct me if you see something in its place.
