Dozen Set

Can I grow a gardenia indoors in Wyoming?

My daughter sent a beautiful gardenia in full bloom for festival Mother. After the first dozen flowers, he has repeatedly set juicy buds, than let them fall. I tried everything suggested in user manual (food, south, empty trips, etc.) but in vain. Should I give up, because of our dry high desert, or is it still hope for this plant?

Gardenias like heat, humidity, and sunlight. May be rooted in water or using Rootone (rooting hormone). Give him as much sun as you can, outside is ok ... Lived in Cody, WY for 7 years and has learned if you can give some pretty green water, they will grow. I do not know if it will be the weather for your winters if planted in the ground (they prefer far as pots). They like acidic soil (coffee grounds, tea bags, Epsom salts) - - - good luck. Would you send me the seeds of good yarrow, you miss the wise and gentle rocky mountain trout lilies ... mariposa, penstemon ........... ahh, the mountains!
